Academic Excellence

At Star of the Sea College, learning is guided by our Education Charter, which seeks to prepare students for the challenges of a changing world. We promote deep thinking, courageous learning, and authentic relationships, fostering confidence and self-reflection in every learner. Our curriculum is rooted in Catholic values and the Presentation tradition, embedding social justice and ethical perspectives across all subjects, while being continually reviewed to reflect innovation and relevance.

From Years 7 through 10, students engage with a comprehensive, scaffolded curriculum that balances core disciplines with elective exploration. In Years 7-8, our Trasna building supports flexible learning through adaptable spaces, technology integration, and collaborative design. By Year 9, students deepen their identity as learners through the Endeavour program, linking classroom content to real-world contexts, ethics, and collaboration. This program is based at our separate Kamesburgh House and Gardens campus, providing a unique setting for hands-on, authentic learning. In Year 10, students begin to specialise, with enhanced support for career awareness, leadership, outreach opportunities, and a stronger focus on pathways.

In the senior years, students choose from a rich suite of Senior Studies pathways including VCE, VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM), and VET, allowing every student to personalise their education according to their individual strengths and goals. The College also provides learning diversity supports such as Academic Enrichment and targeted student support programs to ensure all learners have opportunity to thrive.
