Congratulations to Emma (Year 10) who won a silver Australian medal in U23 mass (two patients rescued one after another) at the Australian IRB Championships at Miami Beach, QLD with her Life Saving Club (Black Rock). Star students Claire (Year 10) and Sophie (Year 12) were also able to enjoy the warmer weather in Queensland as competitors, and they too did exceptionally well! Emma has been selected in the development State Team, an incredible achievement, and Emma's older brother Alec was the driver of the boat. An amazing accomplishment for everyone involved! ... Congratulations to our Star sailing students who won 'The Spirit of Sailing Award' at the recent National level sailing event in Goolwa, South Australia last week. The judges included an International umpire and top Australian umpires, who recognised the sportsmanship and resilience displayed by Star across the event.

With 22 teams competing in the National competition and 275 races completed before the semis & finals, it was an extraordinary and challenging event.

Enduring difficult weather conditions was a trial for all concerned, but the Star sailors prevailed and we are immensely proud of their achievement. Thank you to the Star staff and parents who supported our sailors, helping them to rise to this incredible level of competition!
