GSV Track & Field Finals Evening
Congratulations to our Star athletes on an outstanding performance at the 2026 GSV Track & Field Finals Evening at Lakeside Stadium this week.
Star finished fifth overall on the medal tally, winning an impressive 16 medals – six gold, four silver and six bronze.

Today is R U OK? Day, a day that reminds us of the importance of noticing, checking in and staying connected.
Across Star this week, students have been taking part in activities centred on connection and looking out for one another. This morning, yellow ribbons were handed out before school as a visible reminder of the R U OK? Day message to ask, listen and connect.
At Star, supporting student wellbeing is part of everyday College life, helping to ensure students feel known, connected and supported.
If someone says “I’m fine” but you have a feeling they’re not, checking in isn’t about pushing them to talk. It’s about showing that you’ve noticed and that you care. They may not be ready to open up straight away, but knowing someone is there can make a difference.
R U OK? Day is one day, but the conversation matters every day.

What a fabulous night at Horizons — Star’s 2026 Visual Arts & Design Technology Show.
The Heritage Building came alive as we celebrated the creativity and talent of our Years 7–12 students, with hundreds of works across three floors showcasing an incredible range of artistic and design skills.
Thank you to Maya Soha for officially opening the exhibition, and to our talented students who provided the music and helped create such a wonderful atmosphere.
A huge thank you also to our Visual Arts and Design Technology staff for the enormous amount of work, care and dedication that went into bringing Horizons to life. Your commitment to our students and their creativity is truly inspiring.

Year 12 students Lailani and Isabelle, together with Principal Mary O’Connor, and Indigenous Education Coordinator, Ms Kate Challen proudly represented Star of the Sea College at the Victorian Catholic Education Commission (VCEC) Indigenous Student Dinner last week.
The evening brought together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from Catholic schools across Victoria to celebrate culture, community and the achievements of students as they approach the end of their secondary schooling.
Year 12 student Tenille was unfortunately unable to attend but was also recognised as part of this special celebration.
