Star of the Sea College offers a contemporary, values-based education that nurtures the development of the whole person. We instill in our students a strong sense of connectedness, a deep commitment to their faith, and a belief in their potential to succeed.
Guided by our motto, Facta non Verba (Deeds, not Words), we inspire students to strive for excellence through purposeful action, not only for their own growth but in service to the broader community and beyond.
We take great pride in our 143-year tradition of providing exceptional education in the Bayside area. We warmly invite families to join us for a tour of Star of the Sea College, where every student is valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. College tours are available throughout the school year, beginning in February.

The @stjamesbrighton3186 netball courts were buzzing at lunchtime today as Star and @delasalle_malvern came together for their much-anticipated annual Year 12 netball clash!
With mascots, plenty of colour, enthusiastic cheering and school spirit on full display, there was a fantastic atmosphere both on and off the court. The rain held off just long enough for a large crowd of students and staff, with Star supporters out in force, to enjoy a fiercely competitive match. Both teams gave it their all, but it was Star who claimed the victory on the day.
Beyond the competition, this annual fixture is a wonderful celebration of the longstanding connection between our two schools, bringing students and staff together for some friendly rivalry and plenty of fun.
We were delighted to welcome De La Salle Principal Michael Ilott and members of his staff, who joined Star Principal Mary O'Connor and Star staff on the sidelines to enjoy the action.
Congratulations to both teams on a fantastic contest and to everyone who contributed to such a spirited afternoon. A great win for Star and another memorable chapter in this friendly rivalry! ... See MoreSee Less
It was wonderful to see so many of our Year 12 mums enjoying Friday's Star Mother's Lunch at Encore!
With their daughters' graduation just around the corner, it was a great opportunity to come together, celebrate the friendships formed over the years and enjoy one of their final Star events.
A fantastic afternoon and a lovely way to celebrate this special milestone together! ... See MoreSee Less
Celebrating our Year 12 VCE Vocational Major Students!
Last week, our Year 12 VCE VM students marked the culmination of their learning journey at Star with a special Presentation Night, sharing their digital portfolios with family, friends and staff.
Through in-depth, honest and at times vulnerable presentations, the students shared their experiences, challenges, achievements and growth throughout their time at Star. It was particularly impressive to see the confidence and courage with which they shared their stories in front of their teachers, Principal Mary O'Connor and Deputy Principal Chris Burn.
The evening was both a celebration of their achievements and an important final assessment task for Adventure and Enterprise, showcasing the skills, resilience and personal development gained throughout the VCE VM program.
Our sincere thanks to the dedicated Applied Learning staff, led by Faculty Leader Polli McMahon, for their guidance, encouragement and commitment to supporting each student throughout their journey.
Congratulations to all our Year 12 VCE VM students on reaching this significant milestone. While not all students were pictured or able to attend, we acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of our entire Year 12 VCE VM cohort. ... See MoreSee Less
There was plenty of colour and nostalgia at Star today as our Year 12 students swapped their Star uniforms for their Primary School uniforms!
As they approach the end of their secondary school journey, it was a wonderful opportunity to look back on where it all began and celebrate just how far they have come.
A special day filled with memories, laughter and friendship as our Class of 2026 prepares to say farewell to Star. ... See MoreSee Less
