Anne Wallington

Director (2024–present)

Anne is a strong advocate for girls’ education. She has twenty-eight years’ experience in independent girls’ schools as a secondary teacher, Year Level Coordinator, Head of Senior School, and Deputy Principal. She has found immense satisfaction in working with many hundreds of articulate, enthusiastic and intelligent young people, supporting their development and watching them grow into the young leaders and thinkers of the future.

Anne understands the integral link between effective learning and maintaining a healthy mind, body and spirit in supporting students to achieve their best academically and in life.

In her teaching career, Anne’s notable achievements include instigating a process of continuous review and improvement in student wellbeing programs, chairing a major review of school structures and overseeing multiple IB, VCE and VCE VET curriculum reviews.

Anne has a strong interest in supporting Aboriginal Reconciliation and improving opportunities for young indigenous students. She chaired the Reconciliation Action Plan working party at her last school and organised staff professional learning in Indigenous Cultural
Competency.

Prior to moving into education, Anne worked in sales and marketing for a major multinational information technology firm.

Anne is looking forward to supporting the Star of the Sea mission to empower young people to be positive change makers and leaders. Anne holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Graduate Diploma in Education Studies (Women’s Studies), a Graduate Diploma of Education and a Masters of School Leadership.
