On Friday 20 March, our community will come together to celebrate the founding of Star of the Sea College by Mother John Byrne and Mother Paul Fay in 1883. For 143 years, Star has been part of the Presentation tradition inspired by Nano Nagle, whose mission to support those most in need continues to guide us today.
To mark the occasion, students will take part in Nano’s Walk – a 7km walk along the Bayside Trail – with a shared goal of raising $30,000 for communities in need.
Over the past eight years, our community has raised more than $100,000 through Nano’s Walk to support programs that provide education, support and opportunity for women, families and communities.
All funds raised will support:
• Wellsprings for Women (Dandenong)
• Saltbush – Presentation Family Centre (Balnarring)
• Presentation Sisters Victoria Community Works
• Caritas Australia – Project Compassion
Following Nano’s Walk, students will gather at Kamesburgh Gardens for music, food and time together as a community.
Donations can be made until the end of term. Every donation helps continue the mission begun by Nano Nagle – creating a future filled with opportunity for those who need it most.
