Inspiring Tomorrow by Building Today
The Nano Nagle Centre is the next significant step in the Star of the Sea College Master Plan, following the transformation of the Heritage Building.
What began as a vision on paper is now rising at the heart of the College. Construction is progressing steadily and Stage 1 is on track for completion at the end of this year, bringing a vibrant new hub for learning, sport and community life to Star.
Construction Progress
Over the summer holiday break, significant progress was made on the Nano Nagle Centre, with the structure now rising steadily from what was once a vision on paper.
Work is currently underway on the first-floor structures, with columns and flooring being poured as the building continues to take shape.
This project represents far more than materials and structure – it is an investment in future generations of Star students and a place where learning, connection and our shared values will continue to grow.
Stage 1
The first stage of the Nano Nagle Centre will establish a dynamic and flexible gathering space for the College community and will include:
- A revitalised Sebastian Hall
- Two full-sized basketball courts
- 900 retractable seats
- Flexible learning spaces
- Student social areas
To make way for this exciting transformation, the original Sebastian Hall was demolished during the Term 2, 2025 holidays, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter for the College.

Future Stages
Future stages of the development will further enhance student life at Star through the addition of:
- A new Sr Josepha Dunlop Library
- A vibrant café
- Additional spaces designed to support students academically, socially and emotionally
Together, these spaces will create a dynamic centre for learning, activity and community life at Star.

Spaces for Every Dimension of Student Life
Every element of the Nano Nagle Centre has been thoughtfully designed to support the development of the whole student – academically, socially, physically and creatively.
From quiet study areas to performance spaces, from opportunities for physical activity to places where students can gather and connect, the Centre will support every dimension of student life.
A Shared Vision
The Nano Nagle Centre represents a significant investment in the future of Star of the Sea College and the generations of students who will learn and grow here.
Projects of this scale benefit greatly from the generosity of the Star community. As construction continues toward the completion of Stage 1, we look forward to sharing the progress of this transformative project and celebrating the spaces that will shape the experience of Star students for generations to come.
Every contribution – large or small – helps create a space that will serve generations of Star students.
